MATT BOWEN MUSICIAN IS MORE THAN KURT COBAIN'S SHADOW MUCH MORE!

MATT BOWEN HEARS COBAIN LOUD AND CLEAR BUT IT'S MORE THAN THAT!

MUSICIAN WHO LOOKS LIKE KURT COBAIN WEIGHS IN!

Matt Bowen opens his heart and mind into the inner workings of why he feels spiritually close to Nirvana lead singer Kurt Cobain, but it’s more than that, much, much more, not just that he resembles Cobain, sounds like Cobain and plays like Cobain, and that his songs have a hinge of Cobain. But it goes much deeper, so read on and see what makes this special rocker tick. Matt Bowen insists it’s NOT ALL KURT COBAIN!
What do you think it REALLY means when someone says "Oh, Matt Bowen is connected to Kurt Cobain in spirit?
Matt Bowen musician believes we’re all connected in spirit one way or another. “I also don’t claim to have the answers for everything in that area. I think what that means is that for whatever reason, Kurt Cobain’s spirit is close to mine in my opinion. The dreams, the sightings of his apparition, and I guess the overall familiarity when I hear him talk, sing, or even some of the stuff that he read,” he says.
Bowen feels that there’s a bigger picture out there, “…something bigger than all of us and I’ve felt that when I’ve done music and sometimes when I’m doing other things. It’s not something I can explain easily but Kurt is connected to that larger source I believe just like everyone else who has a soul on this earth is including myself,” Matt says reverently.
In his own words, and honest open heart he says, “I believe in God but I’m not a fan of organized religion and that’s where my spirituality stems from. I would never persecute somebody for going to church because everyone has the right to their own beliefs.”
He believes that atheists and agnostics are really good people; just because they don’t agree with someone doesn’t mean they can’t be a friend or someone you can love. As Matt says, “People of all faiths or no faiths have the right to their ideas and I really think that if there was less division and more understanding that our society could function better as a whole.” I was very intrigued with Matt Bowen.
What other music legends Do You feel connected too spiritually?
Bowen doesn’t consider them to be “legends” but is pretty sure he’s had some sort of encounter with people who were famous in some fashion. “I believe that can spirits can be in multiple places at one time and I believe that my ancestors, my family, anyone who is here to help me is around in some fashion. I’ve never liked the term legend because if those people hadn’t become public icons then no one would be putting them on pedestals now like they are. We are all human beings and we all breathe the same air and bleed the same blood so I prefer the term “talented musician”.
What makes it happen, missing a father figure?
That’s totally not the case. I love my dad, it hasn’t always been the easiest road to travel with him because I’ve been through hell and he had to watch me suffer through it all. As a parent, that must be the hardest thing when your child is feeling tortured inside and you are helpless to do anything about it.
He’s always supported me with my Bi-Polar and my music too. When I was really young he got me into Pet Sounds by the Beach Boys, The Beatles albums, tons of records like Black Sabbath etc.
Ever since I a baby, I could see spirits and was more in touch with that side of things. I never flaunted it because I was afraid of what the other kids would say or that people would shun me or something. At this point, I look at it as a gift and I know there will be people who regardless of what I say will try to say I’m full of shit or that I’m making things up.
They have the right to their opinion but spirits are around us all. There is usually one main spirit guide that is with you all the time trying to help you. Usually someone who is family or maybe even someone you aren’t aware is close to you. I believe Kurt is one of my main spirit guides along with my grandfather who is usually with him.
How did you get along with family, and what did they think of your band thing MOM? DAD? SIS? BRO?
My family supported my band thing all the way. They told me I had talent and I shouldn’t waste it. Even when I was at my lowest they still believed in me and I’ve tried to be a better person to make them proud of me. For me at least, in this life family is the most important thing whether it be flesh and blood or someone who cares about you.
That bond is one that is stronger than any other in my opinion,” explains Bowen.
WHEN DID YOU START TO FEEL CONNECTED SPIRITUALLY TO KURT COBAIN & IS GOD ALLOWING YOU TO HAVE THIS CONNECTION, if so, why you?
Now it’s back to God and religion, not ticking off the songwriter/singer as well as Kurt Cobain connected gentleman. “God allows EVERYONE to be able to be more in touch spiritually. Some people are born that way more but God does not choose favorites. I started to feel connected to Cobain when I had a dream a long time ago and my Grandpa introduced me to him. We talked for a bit and then I spit in his face and walked away for whatever reason,” says Matt easily and passive.
He explains the dreams easily enough, and says that, “…after that the dreams kept coming at a rapid pace and one night I almost died of an overdose. At first I saw a strung-out looking little girl with dark circles under her eyes and on the other side of me I saw a spinning vortex of colors with gold wrapped around it. I thought I was a goner but I said out loud “Please don’t take me yet, I have things to do” and the girl was gone and the portal imploded before my eyes. I was frightened/confused and my chair started to rock and I saw Kurt in it and I assume it was to keep me company and calm me.“
Matt Bowen has seen Kurt Cobain’s apparition before but on that particular evening it became clear to Bowen that Kurt Cobain dead or alive, spirit or in heaven, underground or still playing in another dimension, “…was watching out for him somehow.”
“I really want to stress though, anyone can make spiritual connections if they have patience, put aside their cynicism, and have faith that they can do it. I used to be one of the naysayers but for some reason, maybe the road I was going down, strengthened my resolve to want to become stronger with what I was born with originally. There’s no answer to why me because everyone else has the option to get to where I am; I don’t claim to be some false prophet or charlatan,” says Matt.
He became restless and was fairly content not telling anyone anything but he felt like it was time that people hear about it, not just because of Kurt Cobain, but because they could help each other out. No matter what faith, gender, race, age, that you are, it is possible for you or anyone for that matter, and it takes a tremendous amount of FAITH.
You realize there are literally hundreds of other KURT COBAIN rabid fans out there thinking almost like you, what do you say to them?
He is very sure about this and placed his words very carefully and thoughtfully “I say that I have no doubt that Kurt has appeared to other people before. I’m not staking a claim on Kurt’s spirit or something. That’s not how it works. We are human so we think it’s all about one person or we think selfishly but spirits don’t operate that way. They are selfless and more power to the people who have seen him and/or have been helped by him. I know that there are certain people that are VERY protective of Kurt Cobain but again, if Nirvana never reached the status they reached, he would be another soul in the world,” marveled Matt.
And in closing, or just beginning, Matt Bowen wants people to stop putting others (including himself) who get fame, or had that fame. on pedestals because they were/are people just like everyone else.
It was known when Cobain married Courtney Love in Kauai Hawaii in 1992 that this writer was at the same hotel and saw them marry on the beach barefoot, and Cobain looked shy and in his face was a look of “…I don’t deserve all this attention, and in the end, maybe he started resenting his wife a bit, because she was so comfortable in the public eye and could follow in his footsteps with her own band. She was not afraid to go out and say, “Hey I am married to Kurt Cobain, but I have my own band and it’s a great band!” In a way, in winding down with Matt Bowen, he has a message for the fans and friend and supporters and naysayers too:
“What I say to rabid Nirvana fans is I hope you get to see Kurt Cobain like I did and if you think I’m crazy or making all this up, I don’t care because I am a person that has to tell the whole truth and not just stop to at what’s “safe” or “acceptable” to say. I’ve got nothing but love for everyone out there who love’s Nirvana and music in general frankly. My message would be don’t let people push you around by using fear as a weapon if you have something to say that is right and true. Don’t let anyone silence you because you think you’ll be made fun of, it isn’t worth it in the end. Stay true to yourself.” And there we have it. Next time we will have a phone number you will be able to call Matt Bowen to talk to him directly or leave word for him for the next rock video we are planning, using fans of Cobain and fans of Matt Bowen to add to his newest viral video. Stay tuned…..

KURT COBAIN IMPERSONATOR MATT BOWEN FEELS NIRVANA'S FRONT MAN's SOUL REACHES OUT TO HIM!

MATT BOWEN TALKS KURT COBAIN, NIRVANA, BEING COBAIN!

MATT BOWEN KURT COBAIN MERGING SOULS!
When did you know that being Kurt Cobain as Matt Bowen was something for you?
Well I never really knew that at all, because I was living my life as myself all those years. It was other people making comments about my appearance that got all this commotion started. There are many similarities I’ve heard about or witnessed between me and Kurt. At first I enjoyed getting compliments from people, then people started to call me Kurt and that started to annoy me, and then the obsessive weirdos came out of the closet and that was scary. I was just trying to make some music and live my life. I thought drama ended in high school. I do admit there is resemblance between us though and I can sing many of his songs like him.

Even though Cobain had all sorts of mental problems and drug addictions what is it about him that fascinates you?
Well in fact, I have a mental condition called Bi-Polar disorder. I treat it with medications, and to my knowledge Kurt also was manic depressive (Bipolar). I also had my fair share of drug addiction. That weed gateway thing is a myth for companies to keep their foothold in things, by the way. I had more addictions to Psychedelics and mainly Opiates. Sadly, Kurt and I were both Heroin uses (I quit after a couple years). What really fascinates me about Kurt is that when I hear his voice or see a picture of him, I see this little kid in a grown-up body that has so much passion and creativity. I guess I just relate to how he felt when he sang or how he felt, you can tell a lot by someone’s eyes and I was reading books in his.
Would you consider being a look alike but not playing any music, just going to meet and greet as Cobain for parties or whatever?
I don’t want to be a meet and greet Kurt look-alike even though I probably could make some cash, I’d feel a void in myself though. I would however love to grow my hair longer again and I suppose that makes me look more like the Kurt. Everyone knows this, and I would also play a set of Nirvana songs. I’ll play with any musician, but my dream would to have Dave, Pat, and Krist all up there jamming with me (maybe even switch between former drummers between songs like Aaron Burckhard, Dan Peters, and Chad Channing).

Is there competition with being Cobain from other guys that look like him and do you ever have a problem doing his music and sounding like him, or is it like a second nature to you?
There’s no competition, we’re all trying to survive and I suggest help each other out in this life. I personally will never bill myself as Kurt Cobain because that is not right in my soul. Maybe “Matt Bowen Kurt Cobain Power Twin” or something ha-ha. Anyway, I hope no one feels threatened by me in that community because I like some of their covers. I’ve never had a problem doing Kurt’s voice. I’ve been asked to mimic it so many times like a parlor trick and everyone present said I nailed it or that it sent chills through their spines. I learned his music relatively fast too but since Nirvana has a punk rock aesthetic it was simpler in nature to pick up (note: About a Girl). So yes, it’s second nature.

Do you believe Cobain is morphing through you, his spiritual essence and if so, when did you realize this?
This is my first spiritual/religious question ever. I believe that spirits do exist and there are certain people, called Indigos that have many supernatural gifts. I believe that it’s entirely possible that Kurt could’ve channeled through me at times. I did recognize his voice at an early age, I have so many similarities to him, and some might think this is fiction but I swear on everything I hold holy and dear that this is true. I was having a bad day one day sitting on my deck having a smoke and talking out loud about my frustrations with people not seeing me for and seeing him instead. So I turned around to pick up my drink and I see Kurt sitting next to me with this huge goofy grin and did like I’m away now motion with his fingers and he disappeared. Since then I’ve seen him again, just less frequently. It’s something I didn’t know if I’d share so please don’t throw stones at me for my spirituality because you will look like the evil ones because that is wrong.

How does this work; do you join other musicians or do it alone, or is it collaboration?
I don’t understand what you mean completely, I’ve performed Nirvana songs with people before and it’s always been a blast to jam. So many people, especially my best friend Derek who passed on, were fun to play Nirvana songs with.
How can you use your status of resembling Cobain to A: doing gigs B. appearing as him C: singing like him/looking like him
For one, I would love to be playing gigs period. Also, I am very open to playing with other musicians so that would be cool to have a band again. I’m ok doing it all on my own though because I can still make a live show work either way. As far as recording with other musicians, making collaborations, I love doing it because you get a twist of one person and the feel of another. I think it’s really fun to collaborate, I did that with my friend Sam Akins from England, Katie Quider, etc. etc. I’ve lost count of how many collaborations I’ve done ha-ha. I’m always game for more though
Do you think you will ever meet Courtney Love and what do you think (if you did) she would think of you?
I believe that if I’m where I would like to be as far as being on the music scene and whatnot, our paths will most likely cross at some point. Not to mention the whole resemblance thing. I would rather meet with Frances instead because she seems nice, more approachable and more like her dad. Good soul.” I’m not sure what Courtney would think of me, I wish her no ill will. I actually made a song that goes like “I want a hug, from Courtney Love”, one I haven’t put out there yet. I don’t want to have drama with anyone so peace Courtney.

TOP MUSICIAN MATT BOWEN IS CLIMBING THE LADDER TO A SUCCESSFUL CAREER!

Matt Bowen is influenced by many music artists, and here is a small list: Nirvana, The Beatles, Sublime, Tool, Nine Inch Nails, Ministry, 2pac, Wu Tang Clan! But he has a flavor all his own! Just take a list to his SoundCloud site, he's got potential and charm. Matt Bowen Top Musician has a special way about being and sound very raw and natural almost like a Nirvana mixed with a small bit of Johnny Cash. He can sing a story and tell and sing it right.

KURT COBAIN IN LEFT PHOTO - MATT BOWEN IS RIGHT PHOTO CAN YOU TELL THE DIFFERENCE?

Top Musician Matt Bowen may look like Kurt Cobain of Nirvana but his sound is just a bit more edgy, but what a sound, what a concept, what a tribute, what a face that looks like Cobain, and he’s good looking too. I asked Matt Bowen to reflect on first getting started in the music industry. I found out that he’s been doing music since he was a young kid and everyone was saying how much he resembled Kurt Cobain of Nirvana who tragically died in April 1994 after blowing his head off.
But for Top Musician Matt Bowen, music and songwriting only seemed to enrich his mind with the sounds of the great music coming out of Seattle and around the US, even in Europe. He noticed that when you sped up classical music, it sounded like a sort of odd Funky Rock and Roll sound. He wasn’t always compared to Cobain, and he is not a blues player like the late great B.B. King
"Being a musician, not just a guitar player, I have an understanding of music, to be part of something like a tribute band, it's very gratifying to be part of something I love and am passionate about," he says honestly and with energy.  As a metaphor for music being the "Latin language" for communication; it's the universal language, you can go anywhere in the world and it is the same, except maybe the Orient or Arabic, but as Matt stated, "it is very basic. I can go anywhere in the World and fit right in became I play music and I have a great foundation." Keep in mind that with music even in the Orient and Arabian countries it's whole and beautiful and understandable.

MATT BOWEN has also been influenced by the 1990’s scene due to the popularity of Nirvana, his story allowed him to easily be led directly to starting his own band with its offbeat and cool riffs because of his influence when growing up. Besides Cobain, Bowen plays ALL of the rock classics from Hendrix, Zeppelin, Sabbath, Deep Purple, Jeff Beck and the list goes on and on. He plays guitar but could easily be comfortable with any string instrument like the bass.
Yes, top musician Matt Bowen knew magic was at hand, because years ago he was playing a set during a backyard party when all of a sudden a cool thing happened as they started playing Nirvana’s signature song. At that moment a freight train speeds by during the song! The crowd went NUTS! It was the greatest live show he was ever at and Matt was the one making it happen! That's top musician Matt Bowen’s normal progress. The cosmos said it all when he began playing one of Cobain’s songs sounded like a big crazy freight train steaming down the road! Kismet is what it is called, and at that moment, Matt Bowen a.k.a. Kurt Cobain knew he was on the right "track"!

But I'm sure Matt Bowen will NEVER forget the first time in the spotlight. According to the songwriter/guitar playing musician, "I was playing with another group, we even recorded a bunch of stuff on SoundCloud. We were playing at a small backyard party with about 100 people. Police showed up and stopped the band because you could hear us throughout the whole block and we really were sounding like Nirvana, but no one got busted when police helicopters were flying overhead with their spotlights on us! We just looked up and waved to them, as 20 cop cars pulled up out front and broke it up!" So Cobain, but more Bowen. Just one story about the top musician Matt Bowen!
